About
Someone recently asked me, "What makes you different from everyone else?"

I had to think a while, but then it dawned on me, I'm not just a bushcrafter or just a historical reenactor or just a primitive skills enthusiast, although I'm all those.
I often blend both modern and primitive tools and materials to achieve something new, be it a shelter, cooking, edged tools, or clothing. But mostly, I like to teach and make it all practical for people.
On another level, I never felt like I fit in growing up. I feel like I was born longing for a past era.
Growing up in Montana, the air was thick with Lewis & Clark, Charles M. Russell and the echo of earlier times - for me it was a feeling of freedom, confidence, and peace.

My fascination with history started long before I can remember. Stories are told of finding me skipping class to sit in the library to drink in knowledge as fast as I could consume it. My thirst for information and history has always been voracious.

And then I found people who could teach me the old ways, and things started clicking.

I started by learning the most basic skill that speaks to our our primal nature.
Making fire - the most elemental need of our human existence, connected me with who I really was.

Primitive skills, survival skills, and history are fascinating tools, but on a deeper level, they can serve as a door to help you connect with your true nature - with who you really are.

I invite you to join me on this journey. Check out my blog, my classes, and the cool stuff I have in my store.
